XSLT: What Is It and Why Use It?

Presenter: Nikki Massaro Kauffman

Description: XSLT is most often used to transform XML data into HTML for a browser, but its uses go beyond HTML.  This session will introduce those familiar with JavaScript and CSS to the benefits of using XSLT by:

  • comparing XSL to CSS,
  • introducing client-side and server-side XSLT, and
  • explaining how XSLT makes use of the same source data to address varying needs (PDF, EDI, XHTML, CSV).

Prerequisite Skills: Familiarity with CSS and JavaScript is recommended.
